Fearless calculating with OS X's Calculator
Since the dawn of calculators, the problem of typing in a sequence of numbers from beginning to end without screwing up has been a problem. Fear not, my clumsy-fingered friends, OS X's Calculator is here to help. More specifically, Calculator's "Show Paper Tape" feature.
Selecting "Show Paper Tape" from the "View" menu opens a small "history" window ala old-school "paper trail" calculators. The trick is that you can edit the text and then hit "Recalculate Totals." So even if you make a mistake, you can fix it. You can even type directly into the paper trail window if you want to.
So rejoice! Never again will you have to restrain yourself from putting your fist through your keyboard when you accidentally hit the "/" key after successfully typing in 17 numbers into your calculator.
