Loyola University
I was hired by Segura, Inc. to design a home page exploration for a new mini site for Loyola University. The project involved designing a site where Loyola students could go to view University-oriented videos, podcasts and blogs.
Home Page : Version A

I centered this home page design around the principle that the website moderators at Loyola would be in total control of all the content for the site, so there is very little focus given to user-centric features (i.e. student profiles and other general social networking fundamentals). Students would still submit content (and are encouraged to do so via the "Submit Content" box on the right) but by-and-large, the site would be staff-run.
Home Page : Version B

As opposed to the first home page design I did, this design centered heavily around the concept that the students are essentially in control of the content. There would still be staff moderators behind the scenes that could edit and filter content, but for the most part, the site would behave similarly to Digg.com.
The home page would simply display a constantly updating list of the latest video, podcast, and blog submissions by students.
The middle column would be for "featured" items that the site moderators could control and use to highlight specific items.

Pretty basic list page modeled after a few popular video sharing sites. The goal was to design a format that would be instantly familiar to students.
