5inch.com

Back in 2000, I was hired to code and script the original 5inch.com website. In 2007, Segura, Inc. hired me again to redo the entire site. The UI was a joint effort between myself and Carlos Segura.

Home Page

The home page is totally controlled via the back-end Admin interface. New banners can be uploaded, resorted, and randomized by the site moderators.

Detail Page

Fairly standard product detail page. A brief description of the product and "add to cart" buttons appear prominently at the top, and detailed products shots follow.


Checkout Page

The Checkout page interfaces with both the USPS and FedEx APIs to get the shipping totals on-the-fly.

This is the Admin list page for products. The main product details for each of the sections of the site can be seen at a glance. The sort order of the products can also be changed on this screen.

This is the Admin page for editing products.

Each of the following can be edited for a product:

  • Prices, quantities and weights
  • Pantone colors used
  • Related products (i.e. "Goes with...")
  • Thumbnails
  • Product shots
